Type F (CEE 7/4) Power Plug
Also known as the Schuko.
About Type F (CEE 7/4)
Type F, formally CEE 7/4 and universally called "Schuko" (short for the German Schutzkontakt, "protective contact"), is the dominant grounded plug across continental Europe. Two 4.8 mm round pins are flanked by grounding clips on the top and bottom of the plug that contact metal strips inside the socket recess.
Schuko is unpolarised — the plug can be inserted either way. The recess depth and clip arrangement make it slightly safer against partial-insertion live contact than older plug designs. Rated 16 A at 250 V.
Type F is standard in Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Spain, Portugal, and across the Balkans and Eastern Europe. Cross-compatibility with Type E via the CEE 7/7 hybrid plug means virtually any European appliance works in Schuko sockets.
